Where Everybody Knows Your Name
I have been really bad about keeping up this blog lately. Suffice it to say, the dating diva has been too busy with her dating to write about it!
Lately I've noticed that a lot of my dates have ended up taking place at this one restaurant in my neighborhood. We will call this place Andrew's. It is not an unlikely place for a date. It's near to me, which the guys always cleverly opt for because it a) makes it more convenient for me and b) makes their chances of getting an invite back to my place all the greater. Well, in their minds anyway. Andrew's is also a nice place with a good ambience and works for lunch, dinner, or just drinks.
The first time, it was my date's suggestion. I liked it so much I suggested it for a date with a different guy! The third time, it was a default decision.
I felt a twinge of embarrassement as I walked in the door that third time. I swear the seating hostesses (the same three girls each time) looked at me with a mixture of recognition, amusement, and dare I say a bit of "you go girl"? On Wednesday I have plans to meet up with Mr. Mayor, a guy I have been emailing back and forth with for the past week. His suggestion of where we should go? You guessed it - Andrew's. Where everybody knows your name. And the details of your dating life.

That's awesome!
There's a great little wine bar/restaurant that I used to meet a friend at often b/c it was near both of our works. We weren't dating but I'm sure it looked like it.
One night I took a date there and when we get there maitre'd says, "Oh, will your wife be joining you two tonight?" I nearly died!! Fortunately, my date had a good sense of humor and I was able to smooth it out with expensive wine and desserts. In retrospect, it was pretty funny.
Let's see..... we're still TOGETHER!! Woo!! So that makes it about 4 years now... :)
And we've laughed with the maitre'd about it -- he was appalled b/c they're supposed to be so discrete... :)
